This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date.
This week is the Make Me Read It Readathon! That's the one where you voted on which books I would read, and the order I would read them in. Check out this post for the results of your voting and my updates throughout the week. I've already finished the first book on the list!

What I Read Last Week

The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo (A Newbery winner to go towards my Newbery Reading Challenge)
Krakens and Lies by Tui & Kari Sutherland (The last book in the Menagerie series, which is an awesome middle grade series full of mythical creatures.)
The King's Speech by Mark Logue (This is about King George VI and his speech therapist. There was a movie a few years ago, and I've been fascinated since then.)
Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow by Jessica Day George (A fairy tale retelling with polar bears, my favorite animal!!)

What I'm Reading Now

Little Town on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder (I think I like the books where Laura is older, rather than a young kid. She knows more what's going on with her family and the town.)
The Aviator's Wife by Melanie Benjamin (My audiobook, about Charles Lindbergh's wife)

What's Coming Up Next

Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics by Chris Grabenstein (This is the next book off my Make Me Read It list. I have been dying to read this one since it came out, because I loved the first book so much!)

Interesting choices. I loved Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics. Have you read the first Mr. Lemoncello book? The King's Speech also looks interesting. I loved the movie. Have a happy reading week.

I have read the first Lemoncello book, and I absolutely loved it!

If you enjoyed The King's Speech movie, you would enjoy the book as well. It's written by the speech therapist's grandson, which makes it even more interesting.

I had The Aviator's Wife on my TBR pretty much since it came out, so I thought this was finally the time to read (or listen) to it! :)

This was a reread for me, but I honestly didn't remember much from the first time I read it. It's a really fast read, so you should reread it sometime soon.! ;)

It's my favorite so far as well. It's nice to have such a variety of characters.

I remember liking The Tale of Despereaux when I read it a few years ago for a Goodreads group read-a-thon. I've had The King's Speech and The Aviator's Wife on my tbr list for ages and really must get to them. I hope you enjoy your reads this week.

I can recommend all three (although I haven't finished The Aviator's Wife yet). The King's Speech was really interesting, and I enjoyed it as an audiobook.

I can't wait to hear what you think of the Library Olympics! I tried to convince my son to pick that one at the bookstore this week, but he wanted Percy Jackson instead!

Have a great week, Julie!

My thoughts on Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics will be posted tomorrow, but the bottom line is that I loved it!! Hopefully you can convince your son to get it next time. :)

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
