The Cast of Characters
The BibliophileThat's me! My name is Julie. I love to read, and I own a lot of books. Of course, the plethora of books that I own doesn't stop me from coming home with armloads of books from the library. Or ordering new books online. Or loading up whenever I run across a used bookstore. There is no such thing as having too many books. By day, I'm a teacher, trying to pass that love of reading onto the next generation. I enjoy a little bit of everything, both fiction and nonfiction (minus murder mysteries, true crime, paranormal, and other such things). My guilty pleasure is Regency romances (I devour Georgette Heyer books). I am a great user of parentheses (as you will discover). My personal library habitually outgrows its bounds. It's also my favorite place to read. I'm sure you'll understand why, and perhaps grow a little bit envious, when you see the pictures below.
The EnablerMy husband is an electrical engineer, and the best sort of supportive husband for a bibliophile. He always indulges me in my book buying, never once telling me I can't buy a book I want. He keeps promising that we'll build bookshelves in my library, rather than the ragtag collection of garage sale bookshelves I currently have. He also happens to be a technology wizard, which is turning out to be extremely helpful in my new venture of book blogging.

The Bibliocats
We own two cats, adopted from the Humane Society. They needed literary names, of course (bonus points if you can identify the books their names are from). Cheshire enjoys cuddling during a good reading session. Pevensie is still a little shy, but she's coming around. Of course, both cats like being in the way as much as possible, especially if that means sitting on the computer while I'm trying to type.

Harvey
This is the comfy chair in my library. I got it for $10 at a garage sale when I moved out of my parents' house. Yes, I named the chair (I name a lot of things). Don't know why; just seemed like a Harvey to me.
The Setting
This is my glorious library, recently painted a beautiful shade of blue.
It's the perfect place to hide away and escape to another world.
