Since I've been blogging for less than a year, I still feel like I'm new to this whole venture. I've got to get a better handle on the blogging part before I can expand my horizons too far. Next on my list, though, is the social networking part of the blogging world. I'd like to start a Facebook page for my blog. And I know that Twitter is huge, so that should probably come next. It's kind of overwhelming, though. The few Twitter chats I've read have been pretty confusing. I can only imagine that participating will be more so - and yet incredibly fun at the same time! Honestly, short stories has never been a genre that I've had much love for. But like with anything else book-related, I know that can change if I just find the right book! I'll be on the hunt today for recommendations. I'm sure I'll find some good ones!

I'm trying not to be overwhelmed, but it doesn't always happen, even with just the blog to keep up with. Thankfully, summer is coming soon, and I'll have oodles of time to play around!

I'm less than a year blogging too. I figure being up and running and not having a mental breakdown is my accomplishment, haha

One important thing I learned about social media is not to overwhelm yourself with all the networks. The four major social media sites are Pinterest, Facebook, Google+ and Twitter. Try to chose one of those and work on it. Then when you master one try to add another. Of all four of the ones I listed Google+ is the most popular.

Thanks for the tip, Allison. I didn't realize Google+ was the most popular. Sounds like I should tackle that one first!

I have found the more social media you add the less time you have for reading and actually blogging. But maybe that is just me.

I'm sure that's true, Carrie. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to try to find a good balance!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
