I haven't participated in Book Blogger Appreciation Week before, but it sounds like a lot of fun. It's hosted by the Estella Society, and each day, you're given a prompt to respond to. For Day One, we're supposed to introduce ourselves using five books that represent us or our interests. This may be a little challenging, but here goes. (Okay, it turns out that was fun and not as challenging as I thought. I probably could have come up with more than five!)

I've played piano since I was five, and clarinet since the fifth grade. I don't do much with the clarinet anymore, but I still love to sit down at the piano and play!

Oh I should have picked Mere Christianity! I loved it, adored it, borderline memorised it when I first read it. Ohhh I need to reread. Thank you for the list, it's great to get this chance to 'meet' other bloggers! :)

It's been a few years since I've read it myself. Picking it for this list has definitely made me want to pick it up again! :)

I tend to gravitate towards teacher books, too - you're right that there are a lot out there! This one was fun and inspiring. I hope you enjoy it if you decide to read it! :)

I love your approach to this! I had a really hard time picking out just one "Books about Books" title to include in mine. I love So Many Books, So Little Time. I ended up going with Ex Libris by Anne Fadiman, but I love so many others too.

Ooh, Ex Libris is a good choice, too. I really enjoyed that one.

So Many Books, So Little Time is a really fun read. I think I'll be rereading Mere Christianity soon now that I've picked it for this list. It's about time for a reread! :)

I grew up obsessed with Chronicles of Narnia but I still have never read any of Lewis's non-fiction books. I've heard they're amazing! I love listening to music but I have no ability to create music whatsoever! I created a daughter who plays the piano beautifully though. Does that count?

I love Mere Christianity! If you enjoyed Narnia, you should give his nonfiction a try.

Love it! CS Lewis is such a tremendous writer: Even when I disagree with him, I'm always so impressed with the simplicity and clarity of his prose and the way he lays out his ideas. Happy BBAW!

"Simplicity and clarity" is a great way to describe C.S. Lewis' writing! :)

Mere Christianity is an easy book to dip in and out of, because it's written in sections. I agree - music is most certainly the next best thing to reading! :)

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
