So I'm signing up and hoping to participate in whatever little ways I can. Any tips from those of you with little ones?
Okay, I know I'm a little crazy for signing up for this one. By the time April 23 comes around, I'll be spending most of my time taking care of a couple-week-old baby. So I was just going to let this readathon go by. But I can't. Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon is my absolute favorite blogging event of the year. And even if I can't participate much, I can't pass it up entirely.
So I'm signing up and hoping to participate in whatever little ways I can. Any tips from those of you with little ones?

Honestly, I read much more than I expected I would during my son's early days. I don't recommend reading anything too heavy or complex because you'll be tired, but there will likely still be reading opportunities. Newborns aren't mobile, so I would read while holding him sometimes (oh, back in the days before he could grab my pages!) And an e-reader would probably be even easier if you have one.

Everything you say here is so true! Breastfeeding is hard and very time-consuming (as evidenced by the fact that I've tried to reply to this comment three times now and been interrupted by a hungry little boy). I am finding more time to read than I expected, and audiobooks have been my savior for this. That way I can "read" and stare at my adorable little boy. :)

Hi Julie - I'm also being a fool and signing up for the Read-A-Thon despite the conflict with Passover this year. When I had a very little, audiobooks were definitely my go-to way to read. I could listen while pacing the floor and the hours and hours of rocking since my hands were full.

I've never been one for audiobooks, but I do find myself listening to a lot of them now! They are perfect for all sorts of things when you have a little baby to take care of!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
