This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date.
Happy belated Halloween (and Reformation Day) to everybody! We had a total of 7 trick-or-treaters at our house, so lots of leftover candy for us! (That's kind of the way we plan it. . .)

What I Read Last Week

America the Beautiful: Rediscovering What Made This Nation Great by Ben Carson (He has some really great ideas! I like this guy!)
The Turquoise Ledge: A Memoir by Leslie Marmon Silko (As our weather gets colder and windier, it was nice to escape into the Sonoran Desert for awhile.)

What I'm Reading Now

The Zucchini Warriors by Gordon Korman (This was a fun find for help finish up my A-Z challenge.)
The Importance of Being Earnest and Four Other Plays by Oscar Wilde (I finished Lady Windermere's Fan over the weekend, which I enjoyed just as much as The Importance of Being Earnest. Two plays down, three more to go!)

What's Coming Up Next

Xanadu: Marco Polo and Europe's Discovery of the East by John Man (Last book for my A-Z challenge. I actually found one that starts with an X!)

I am big fan of Ben Carson myself. Looks like that one is going on my list! :)

I was very impressed with this book, and with him. I'm hoping to read the rest of his books sometime soon!

I should read more Oscar Wilde plays. I've only read The Importance of Being Ernest and I loved it. :)

Lady Windermere's Fan was as laugh out loud funny as The Importance of Being Earnest. It went a little deeper, but still with plenty of misunderstandings!

I love the books written by Dr. Ben Carson. I first read Gifted Hands. Then, the one you have in the photo above. Enjoy your week.

The Turquoise Edge sounds really interesting. I do like storytelling. You read many books with substance. Kudos to you.

The Turquoise Edge wasn't quite what I expected, but I really enjoyed it!

Good on you for the title X find. I took the easy way out with that and just used the out of X anywhere in the title!

I care way too much about reading challenges, so I always try to find a title that actually starts with X. I have a feeling I'll be running out of books soon, though! :)

I had about 30 trick or treaters this year after having one last year. I started rationing the candy but ended up with leftovers anyway. Here is a summary of my week. Happy reading!

That's a big jump from last year! Glad you still had some leftovers to enjoy! ;)

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
