This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date.
Our house is all decorated for Christmas now, complete with lots and lots of strings of Christmas lights. (Christmas lights are my favorite part of the decorations. In fact, there are a couple strings that stay up in my house year round!) Now we just need the weather to get with the program. I don't know what it's like where you are, but it was 60 degrees here in Michigan yesterday. Normally we're buried under half a foot of snow by this point at least!

What I Read Last Week

Blessings by Anna Quindlen (Very heart-warming story about an abandoned baby and the lives she affects.)
The Diary of a Nobody by George Grossmith (If you like British humor, you would love this book.)
The Importance of Being Earnest and Four Other Plays by Oscar Wilde (I did it! It took me two months, but I finally made it through these five Wilde plays!)
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer (Is it possible that the second book is even better than the first? Hope the trend continues through the series!)

What I'm Reading Now

Picture
Grave Consequences by Lisa Bergren (I am done with all of my 2015 reading challenges! That means I can read whatever I want for the rest of December! Starting with this second book of a trilogy that I've been dying to read.)

What's Coming Up Next

Return to Me by Lynn Austin (Another book I've been impatiently waiting to read.)

Congrats on finishing your challenges! I might be interested in The Diary of a Nobody, as I love British humor. Lynn Austin and Lisa Bergren are among my favorite authors - hope you enjoy both of those! I certainly did.

Happy Reading!

I've loved Lynn Austin's books for a long time, but I only recently discovered Lisa Bergren. They are both definitely great authors!

So fun to be all decorated for Christmas! I'm still working on it... At least we got the tree yesterday, so decorating will be next as soon as the branches settle :) I think it's funny how childhood traditions still influence us--my parents never did lights, so I've never done them as an adult -- I do love looking at other people's lights though! :)

And it's unseasonably warm here too -- been taking the little guy on lots of long walks while I still can! The cold will soon cut our adventures a bit shorter I think.

It is amazing how traditions stick around, isn't it? I have to listen to the same two Christmas CDs every year as I decorate the tree, because that's what we listened to as kids (of course, they were records, then). :)

I love decorating also. I'm considering to pick up a Christmas themed book, we will see.

I live in Bermuda where it is warm but yesterday my daughter went swimming, it is not Dec/Winter/Christmas weather at all.

Wow, Bermuda! Is it strange to have no snow on Christmas? For me it would be, but that's probably because I've always had snow!

What a lovely idea to leave a few strings of lights up all year. Great that Scarlet was very good, 2016 will see me read the whole 4 I hope.

Christmas lights (we call them fairy lights here, I don't know if that's a world wide thing) are great for creating a cosy atmosphere - I can see why you keep some up year round.

Looks like you had a great reading week - I hope that continues.

Fairy lights is the perfect name! Then I don't have to feel weird about leaving "Christmas" lights up all year round. :)

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
