The Iron Whim: A Fragmented History of Typewriting by Darren Wershler-Henry (I was in the middle of reading this one for last week's It's Monday post. Then, I mentioned it was weird. Having finished reading it, that opinion still stands. It's a weird book.)

The Color of Rain: How Two Families Found Faith, Hope, & Love in the Midst of Tragedy by Michael and Gina Spehn (I heard the authors of this book speak at our church last weekend, and I got a free copy of the book. I'm really looking forward to reading this one and seeing how God has worked in their lives.)

You seem to read a good variety of books - that's always a good thing. I'm sure you never tire of a particular genre or subject matter that way.

You know, when I was looking at my list of what I read this week, I was thinking that it was pretty eclectic. The variety isn't something I usually plan out, but it works well for me!

I read Goodman's book The Cookbook Collector, but this is my first time hearing about The Other Side of the Island. I can't wait to read what you thought!

I read The Cookbook Collector too and really enjoyed it. I'm guessing that's how The Other Side of the Island made it on my TBR list in the first place. Review will be posted soon! (Soonish, at least. I kind of have to write it first. :)

I watched the movie for Austenland last year... silly movie but I bet the book is a fun read! Hope you liked it.

It was a fun read. It would be interesting as a movie, since so much of the book follows Jane's thoughts. I'll have to watch the movie and see how they do that. Thanks!
