What I Read Last Week
Booked by Kwame Alexander (Another great one from him.)
My Family and Other Animals by Gerald Durrell (This was an absolutely delightful read.)
This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. Anyone else heard of a bookstore chain called 2nd & Charles? A friend told me about it last week, and I convinced my husband that we should make a visit there on Saturday. The prices are phenomenal! I walked out of there with a huge stack, and I can't wait to visit again, hopefully someday very soon! I love those Melanie Jeschke books! Have you read her Jillian Dare? It's a fun modern day spin of Jane Eyre. Great haul! I too, am a fan of Kwame Alexander and Gerald Durrell -- happy reading to you.

I haven't read anything by Melanie Jeschke yet, but I saw the title "Inklings" and knew that it would be coming home with me even before I read the back cover! I'm really looking forward to reading that series, and I'll be sure to check out others she has written!

I haven't heard of them, but of course I Googled LOL -- I've never been to a chain used bookstore, but the concept sounds really cool! (And none by me, I checked -- haha!)

This one is about an hour away from me (which is probably a good thing). I'm glad it's that close because there are only two in Michigan. I think they should start adding more locations! :)

Look at that fantastic book haul! I'm hoping to read "Chilbury Ladies' Choir" sometime this year -- it sounds right up my alley, and as a total cover-judger I'm pretty much destined to pick it up!

I love the cover of Chilbury Ladies' Choir, too. I was definitely the one nudging my book club to choose this one, and I'm so glad I did. It's really good!

We've checked Sheep in a Jeep out of the library before, and I knew we had to own it. I was glad to see it at the bookstore!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
