My Year in Books - 2017 (including my top reads of the year!)
What I Read Last Week
Mail Obsession by Mark Mason (For Anglophiles and lovers of random facts! This book is awesome!!)
This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. Apparently with this fresh new year, I've decided to tackle a long overdue project. I'm going through all of my bookshelves and getting rid of books that I will probably never read, or ones that I've read and don't need to keep. It's amazing how much space I've cleared up! It was desperately needed, because I have piles of books that need a place on the shelves - and now they will hopefully have one! I'm really looking forward to organizing the books that are left, but first I need to deal with the books I'm giving away. I'm sorting into three categories - for my Little Free Library, for the local bookstore (so I can get some credit to buy more books), and for Goodwill. I didn't necessarily intend to start this project, but I'm so glad I did! Recent PostsHow Did I Do in My Reading Plans for 2017? My Year in Books - 2017 (including my top reads of the year!) I know the feeling of not intending to start a bookish project..and then all of a sudden you have! LOL It is nice to tackle organizational type things in the new year though :)

It does feel like a good start to the new year! The books I have left (and there are still tons) are books I now I plan to read, rather than those I'll never get to. Now I just need to find the time to read them! :)

I saw your rating of Mail Obsession on Goodreads and I was definitely intrigued by that title.

I can only imagine that Mail Obsession would be enjoyed even more by someone who actually lives in Britain. I know there were cultural references I didn't get. I think you would enjoy it if you get a chance to read it, Jade!

I am impressed you tackled your bookshelves already this year! I need to do that -- especially my shelves of unread books -- but it's such an intimidating project. I've got several stacks of books that need to find space... but right now they're just piled on a table near my desk. Oops!

It felt so good to sort through all my books and only leave the ones I know I plan to read. It wasn't a project I planned on tackling, but I'm so glad I did! I'm really hoping I have room for all my "homeless" books on my shelves now. :)

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
