This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. This past week, I had the opportunity to take my students to our state capital. It's always fun to see how excited they get, and how impressed they are by the beautiful building. This is one of my favorite field trips all year, and we all had a great time! I have been struggling through a non-fiction book for a month now! But I have also enjoyed a couple of fictions along the way! My attention has turned mostly to crocheting and knitting right now. I have put that beloved hobby a side for too long and am really going crazy with it again. I love to see a finished project and the gifting of it. I don't think I will reach my 50 book goal this year but I have enjoyed most of what I have read. :)

What matters about reading is that you enjoy it! I'm glad you are enjoying your crocheting and knitting projects. Have a great weekend, Joyful!

I can relate to having to sort out emotions for The Goldfinch. I liked, but then felt it got bogged down a bit, then liked again, then the ending ... rant? That threw me.

Definitely got bogged down in the middle. I liked the ending. It kind of seemed to pull it all together for me. Still trying to figure out how I feel about the book as a whole!

This is the first I've read by her, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm curious about what her other books are like now.

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
