This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.
Last week was another crazy week, partly because my husband and I spent all day Saturday painting our new master bedroom and bathroom. I was a little scared of how the color would turn out, but I think I like it! Here's a look at part of our day's work:

A Romance on Three Legs by Katie Hafner - Review
Saturday Snapshot - Ponte Vecchio in Florence

What I Read Last Week

Picture
A Year in the Life of William Shakespeare: 1599 by James Shapiro (There is so much more to Shakespeare's plays if you know the behind-the-scenes stuff. This book was fascinating.)

What I'm Reading Now

Picture
The President's Lady by Irving Stone (A novel about Andrew and Rachel Jackson. Very interesting so far!)

What's Coming Up Next

Picture
Probably Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, which was my Classics Club spin book. Trying to get a jump on things before the craziness of the holidays starts!

I love that colour, so rich and pretty, my husband wouldn't agree to it though!

Have a great reading week,

I kept asking him as we were painting, "Are you sure you're okay with this?" It was a little late to change it at that point, though, so I'm glad he said yes! :)

Me, too! I looked through soooo many paint samples, but that one just stuck with me. I'm glad it looks good on the walls, too! :)

I love the color too! We are having painting done this Friday and I am nervous about my color choice too!

The first coat we put on made it look red. I was pretty worried, but by the third coat it looked like I wanted it to. Painting is stressful! :)

That color looks great! We recently painted our living room a light blue. It's pretty soothing!

A Year in the Life of William Shakespeare sounds fascinating. I'm going to have to look into that one.

Light blue would be nice and soothing. It's fun to change up the color! The Shakespeare book was definitely fascinating. I hope you enjoy if you get a chance to read it!

Thanks, Laura! I've enjoyed other books I've read by Irving Stone, and The President's Lady is no exception. Hope you have a great week, too!

I like the color. Are you going to have wide-plank hardwood floors or is that just the plywood?

The President's Lady has a nice cover. I hope it is a good read.

ENJOY the rest of your reading week and your painting. :()

Thanks, Elizabeth. That's just the subfloor. We're going to have carpet installed when we're all done painting. :)

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
