The Little Paris Bookshop looks tempting. Recently I downloaded The Bookshop on the Corner and hope to love it.

I devoured it in two days. It was good, even though it wasn't quite what I was expecting!

I read The Little Paris Bookshop earlier this year on a recommendation. It's not normally my kind of read -- a little mushy and overwritten in places -- but I ended up really loving it thanks mostly to the last third. There are some wonderful meditations on grief and recovery that resonated with me.

You can tell Nina George had been there. She described grief so poignantly and honestly. I can see why this book would have been a good fit for you, Kim. I think it would be experienced differently by those who had never grieved for someone close to them.

I didn't read the Dark is Rising series until I was an adult. We're in the last few days in our current place. It seems like the work to move will never end. Come see what I'm reading when I'm not packing.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who missed out on this series as a kid. Hope you enjoyed it as an adult!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
