This weekly frenzy of listing is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
Okay, I'm a few days late on getting this post up. But this seemed like a fun topic - the ten books from whatever genre you choose that you most recently added to your TBR list. It'll be no surprise to anyone who is a regular visitor to Smiling Shelves that the genre I picked is travel narratives. I am always ready to read about travelling to a new place!

Better late than never, right?!

I'm interested in At Home in the World and also Mail Obsession; I'll definitely being seeing if my library holds the latter. Thanks for sharing!

That's what I thought! :)

I found Mark Mason's first book, Walk the Lines, at Foyle's when we visited London. Books make the best souvenirs. I loved that one, and I just ordered Mail Obsession from Amazon because I want to read it! :)

One of my favorite topics, Julie! I loved At Home in the World and The Road to Little Dribbling (Bryson is fantastic). I'm reading Four Seasons in Rome right now, and it's wonderful. Such good writing. I just added Learning to Bow to my list last week!

Did you catch Anne Bogel's podcast last week? It was all about travel memoirs--and her guest stumped her!

Bill Bryson is one of my favorites. I can't believe it's taking me this long to read his newest book!

I'm a few weeks behind on What Should I Read Next, but I will make a big effort to catch up soon. A podcast on travel memoirs? Perfect!

I love reading books about the Arctic, so I might check out The Magnetic North. I've only read books about the Canadian Arctic so I think it would be good for expanding my view a bit!

I read Sara Wheeler's book about Antarctica, Terra Incognita, and I really enjoyed it. I just recently discovered she wrote one about the Arctic, so I'm looking forward to reading that one!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
