2019 Caldecott and Newbery Winners!

On Monday, the American Library Association announced the winners of this year's Caldecott and Newbery Awards (along with a whole bunch of other awesome awards!). If you're participating in my Newbery Reading Challenge, then all of the below books earn you points. If you're not participating (It's not too late to join), then all of these books look amazing, and you should read them!

Merci Suarez Changes Gears was a pleasant surprise! Hello Lighthouse was not so much of a surprise, but I would rather have seen Alma or Mooncake take the medal (I'm not familiar with Thank-you, Omu!).

I ordered my copy of the Newbery winner! But it’s back-ordered for a few weeks — really want to read all 3, though it may take me a while!

Apparently the ALA didn't give Amazon a heads up about who the winner was going to be! :) I've put a request in at my library for it, so let me know when yours arrives!
