This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date.
This is a very bizarre Monday for me. You may or may not know that I'm a teacher. Today, my students are at school without me. In fact, I'm done teaching for the rest of the school year, since baby might arrive at any time (or maybe he's already here, since I'm writing this post a couple days early!). Either way, it's very strange to think of my class at school without me. I don't regret my decision to become a stay-at-home mom. It's just a strange transition. . .

What I'm Reading Now

Glitter and Glue by Kelly Corrigan (Trying to keep on top of reading the books I buy this year.)

What's Coming Up Next

There are a few books that could be the possible next choice, but I'm leaning towards this one for now:
Picture
Corked by Kathryn Borel (Figured I should do a father-daughter memoir after the mother-daughter memoir.)
When My Name Was Keoko by Linda Sue Park (Very touching book)
The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco (Surprisingly fast read, despite the Latiny theology stuff.)
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy (I finished!!! 1,361 out of 1,361 pages read! Whew!)

I can imagine this transition has a lot of mixed emotions for you! Wishing you all the best as you navigate these coming weeks and months. I was already working from home, so my own transition to working less hours (and figuring out how to fit those hours in at all!) was definitely different.

Thanks! It's been both easier and harder than I expected to transition to not working. I think it will be the weirdest yet when the school year starts again in the fall, and I don't have a classroom to get ready!

The transition is so weird, I agree! It took me a year to stop missing my library at work and all the kiddos. I still miss it occasionally but Wyatt keeps my hopping. Lol.

This is such an exciting nerve-wracking time for you - so many feelings are bubbling around right now. It is going to be great, and you are going to be a great mom!

I just read a book Hope Unfolding - Grace Filled Truth for the Momma's Heart and I really really recommend it. :)

It certainly helps that my little one keeps me so busy, but I still miss work for sure. I'm sure it will get better! That book sounds really good. I'll be sure to check it out!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
