Books I Read in April

So despite having a newborn baby in the house, I did read some books in April! Here's a recap of my amazing April reads:

Winter by Marissa Meyer (This was AWESOME! And major thanks to my husband, who turned pages for me while I nursed my little guy. Every bookworm needs a husband like this!)
The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion (My book club read The Rosie Project in April, and I figured that was a good time to check out the sequel.)
On the Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder (Trying to stay caught up with the Little House Read-Along. Each one of these I read, I enjoy them more and more.)

A Red Herring Without Mustard by Alan Bradley (I have finally discovered a place for audiobooks in my life! They are extremely useful in life with a little baby. And Flavia was perfect as an audiobook.)
Taran Wanderer by Lloyd Alexander (The Chronicles of Prydain are awesome. I really need to reread them more often.)
The Penderwicks at Point Mouette by Jeanne Birdsall (This series just gets better and better. I think they have officially made it onto my must-buy list now.)

I loved Winter. Sad that series is over! Happy May!

I agree - Winter was a great ending to the series! But now we need more books!

Awesome month! I agree audiobooks are great with a baby. I am almost done with a whopper of an audio -- Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon and it will clock in at just under 45 hours! I had been re-reading the series before my own little guy was born (and read A LOT of it when I was pregnant and not feeling so great for a while there), but was having trouble resuming my re-read of such chunksters since he was born, even though I was finding time for reading in general. It finally dawned on me to switch to audio and has worked out quite nicely :)

Enjoy all the newborn snuggles and stories -- they are the best :) :)

45 hours! Impressive! I am loving listening to audiobooks, but I'm not sure I have the stamina for 45 hours of the same book. Although I am planning to do my next Harry Potter reread by audiobook, so all bets are off then. :)

That is great that you are still getting some reading in. I really have to get to Winter, but I think I am holding off because it is the end... Plus, it is huge and I am having a hard time with longer reads lately.

Winter is huge, but it's a really fast read. Way too fast in my opinion, actually, since I didn't want it to be over. Make you sure savor it whenever you decide to read it! :)

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
