Classics Club Spin List

I'm excited for another spin! This is such a fun way to keep myself chipping away at my Classics Club list. I am cheating a little bit though - I'm just copying and pasting my list from the last spin (trading out the one I read, of course). That's mostly because I'm trying to read books I already own, so those are the books I put on the list. So here it is!
1. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
2. Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens
3. Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
4. Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll
5. Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
6. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
7. The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan
8. Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe
9. The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain
10. Autobiography of Anthony Trollope by Anthony Trollope
11. Tender Is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald
12. Erewhon by Samuel Butler
13. The Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison
14. Tales of the Jazz Age by F. Scott Fitzgerald
15. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
16. Travels with Charley by John Steinbeck
17. Waverly by Sir Walter Scott
18. The Good Earth by Pearl S. Bucks
19. Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
20. Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift

A fantastic list. I've read a few of these, own a few, and want to read more. The Count of Monte Cristo has been on my list, but I'm going to try to get through The Brothers Karamazov and Les Mis as my tough classics first. Happy reading!

I've read Les Mis. Tough going in the middle, but very worth it otherwise. Good for you for going for the thick classics!

You haven't read Through the Looking Glass yet? That will be a treat!

I've read 14 from that list, most recently Invisible Man (not to be confused with The Invisible Man by H. G. Wells...) I'd be curious to see what you think about it.

I'm definitely looking forward to Through the Looking Glass. I should probably reread Alice in Wonderland first though, since my only read of that one was puzzling through it in French. I'm sure it will be much easier in English. :)

I hope you get the one you are hoping for! They all are great selections. I have read only 7 if them though.

I'm kind of hoping for Oliver Twist, but only because I want to get it over with. I'm not a huge Dickens fan - too many forced readings of Great Expectations. I'd be happy with anything on the list, though!

Oliver Twist has been my favorite Dickens novel. I have Great Expectations on my list but now I am feeling kind of afraid after your comment "too many forced readings..."

I really enjoyed The Three Musketeers, so this should be a great read! I'm looking forward to it!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
