This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date.
Well, we had an extremely unusual week of 70+ degree weather. In November, of all things! But I'll take weather like that anytime I can get it. Besides, knowing Michigan, it'll probably be snowing by Thanksgiving!

What I Read Last Week

The Zucchini Warriors by Gordon Korman (Fun middle grade fiction)
Xanadu: Marco Polo and Europe's Discovery of the East by John Man (This book couldn't seem to decide if it wanted to be a travelogue or straight history, but I learned a lot anyway!)

What I'm Reading Now

The Hidden White House: Harry Truman and the Reconstruction of America's Most Famous Residence by Robert Klara (Did you know that Truman owned 489 neckties? You do now!)
The Importance of Being Earnest and Four Other Plays by Oscar Wilde (I'm halfway through A Woman of No Importance, and thoroughly enjoying it!)

Xanadu was fascinating, and The Hidden White House is turning out to be as well!

It certainly is fascinating. Makes me want to take a tour of the White House, for sure! :)

I think the Whitehouse book would be really interesting to read. I guess a man's ties are to him what women's shoes are to us.

I hear you on the weather- wasn't that awesome? And now the frost is here... I've always been fascinated with Marco Polo, so that looks like a good one. I've even thought about trying the Marco Polo series on Netflix, although I don't know if it's good or not. I'd love to read a book about his journeys...

Yup, the cooler temperatures are definitely back. I didn't know there was a Marco Polo series on Netflix. Intriguing... I definitely recommend Xanadu if you're interested in him. It gives a good overview of his life and journeys.

The Hidden White House looks good.

Nice week for you.

The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake was good. I read it a while ago.

ENJOY your book club read and your reading week.

Gordon Korman is a pretty good writer; he wrote one of The 39 Clues series and I liked it. We have wishy washy weather today, a battle between the sun and rain. It's been cold here since November started.

I read Zoobreak by Korman last year, and I really enjoyed it. We're definitely back to cooler temperatures now. Hope the sun wins out for you! :)

This weather, I love it!! I am usually a huge winter fan, but not this year. I am not looking forward to it. :( We can keep this weather until spring, although I am sure you are right, snow by Thanksgiving. Lol.

The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake was an interesting read.

It was crazy to go outside without a coat in November, wasn't it? Cooler now, but hopefully the snow will still hold off for awhile. :)
