Happy chain of events this week:
My town's Fall Festival was this weekend --> No school on Friday --> Unusually warm fall weather --> Time spent reading on the front porch --> One whole book finished this weekend!

What's Coming Up Next

Probably a trip to the library. I still need a few books to finish up some of my Reading Challenges this year. Does anyone have any ideas for an author's last name that starts with a U?

Sounds like you had a great week. I have read Mary Stewart's romantic suspense titles but not her Arthur series. You must be enjoying it if you are reading book 4. Come see my Monday Report. Have a great week!

It's been a few years since I read the first three in the series. Thankfully, the Arthurian legend is well-known enough that you can jump right in anywhere!

I haven't read Mary Stewart's Arthurian series but always been curious about it. I'll have to check your reviews and maybe I can track those down at the library. Following the Sun sounds kinda interesting too.

I really like the way her Arthurian books put it in a realistic historical context. She includes lots of details that make it seem more real. I recommend them!

John Updike and Leon Uris come to mind. I've never read either, alas.

I tried Rabbit, Run in college, but didn't get very far. Thanks for the suggestions!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
