Alas, spring break is over, and it's back to school time. I'll gladly admit that I missed my students, although I loved being able to sleep in and read as much as I wanted!

What I Read Last Week

The Unknown Ajax by Georgette Heyer (A spring break treat!)
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden (Okay, as I write this, I haven't technically finished reading this book. But I'm close enough I'm going to count it as read!)

What I'm Reading Now

Side-by-side P.G. Wodehouse. My Man Jeeves, which I'm actually listening to as an audiobook, is the April selection for the Reading to Know Book Club. It's the first book in the Jeeves series. Then I just so happen to own the last book in the Jeeves series - Aunts Aren't Gentlemen - so I thought I'd read that and compare. I love Wodehouse's British sense of humor!

What's Coming Up Next

Picture
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows (The third meeting of my brand new book club is coming up soon, so I should probably get around to reading the book!)

The Help was great, need to read your review - you should rent the movie now.

Potatoe Pie is a sweet book, just hate the title.

It is quite the long title! I keep leaving out the word "pie" whenever I type it. My book club actually rented the movie of The Help to watch when we had our meeting. It's a great example of a successful book-to-movie transition!

I love Georgette Heyer. I have read everything except her mysteries. <a href="http://inside-dog.blogspot.com/2014/04/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-april.html">Come see my week here.</a> Happy reading and have a wonderful week!

Hooray! Another Heyer lover! I haven't read any of her mysteries either, and only one of her history novels. I'm sure I'll get there once I use up her Regency romances!

I honestly loved Guernsey. It took me a bit to get into it, but once I was in, I was sucked in. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Happy reading this week! :) <a href="http://brunettelibrarian.blogspot.com/"> The Brunette Librarian's Blog</a>

I'm glad you enjoyed it. The books that take awhile but then suck us in often seem to be the ones we love the most. I'll keep that in mind when I begin reading!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
