This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date.
It was a busy weekend for me! Farmers' market, choir concert, church, and a visit to an orchard filled up my weekend. Lots of fun activities, but I'm exhausted now! It also means that I only got 2 hours of reading in during Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon on Saturday. Sad. Maybe I'll just have to make my own readathon some weekend when I'm less busy!

My Recent Post

Reading Together Book Club - The Magic Months!

What I Read Last Week

The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain (My first book through the Serial Reader app is complete! It's a really fun way to get some classics read.)
Living with a Dead Language: My Romance with Latin by Ann Patty (I typically enjoy books about languages, but the author was a bit pretentious for my taste.)

What I'm Reading Now

The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald (Pretty good so far)
The Iliad by Homer (This is the next book I'm reading with Serial Reader. This one is going to be a bit more challenging!)

What's Coming Up Next

The Sisters Grimm: The Fairy-Tale Detectives by Michael Buckley (The November read for the Reading Together Book Club, which I'm co-hosting! I'm already about a third of the way through this one. It's so good!)

I really need to figure out a way to get Serial Reader into my routine. I like the idea but keep forgetting about it. lol

I had to pick a specific time (during my little guy's bedtime feeding) every day to get it done. Otherwise I would also forget about it! :)

Sounds like you had a great weekend, and two hours in the readathon is great! A personal readathon sounds fun!

I've heard a lot of good things about The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend, although not read it myself.. Yet!

I just had to keep reminding myself that real life is more important that reading, occasionally. :) You're right - two hours is still pretty good. I hope you enjoyed your readathon!

I loved The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend!

It is definitely that cider mill time of year in Michigan. We visited one last weekend as well, I always love going. Wyatt seemed to really enjoy his visit as well, judging by how he loved his apple doughnut!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
