This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date.
Michigan weather is crazy, and we had the perfect example on Sunday afternoon. It was a cloudy day, snow turning to rain as it warmed up above freezing. The sun came out for 15 minutes. Then it thundered twice and starting snowing like crazy, blowing sideways. That lasted about 20 minutes, and then the sun reappeared. Craziness. And boy, was I glad that I was warm and cozy inside!

What I Read Last Week

Mr. Rosenblum Dreams in English by Natasha Solomons (This was a delightful read, especially for anyone who's an Anglophile like I am.)

What I'm Reading Now

Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain by Oliver Sacks (The first third of this book made me terrified that music was going to turn on me - musical seizures, musical hallucinations. . . But the rest of it has been absolutely fascinating!)
Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson (Ooh, it's getting exciting!)

What's Coming Up Next

Lost in a Good Book by Jasper Fforde (I'm revisiting Jasper Fforde this year, so this is my February read!)

I can totally relate to having some weird thoughts after reading a book by Oliver Sacks. My husband thought I was crazy for listening to a book about hallucinations. But he writes such fascinating stuff, doesn't he?

It really was fascinating! I'm looking forward to checking out some of his other books.

I have to agree about the Michigan weather. Although I did like the blue sky today. And it's supposed to get in the 50's by the weekend I guess.

I need to read Treasure Island, I never have. :(

Yes, the blue sky was wonderful! This has certainly been unusual February weather, though - 50 degrees? Crazy!

This is my first time reading Treasure Island, too, although I've seen the Muppet movie version several times. :)

We have finally entered winter. We have so much snow after a pretty mild one so far. And more storms in the forecast... aw, weather... lol Have a great week!

I love snow, and we haven't had anywhere close to as much as normal this year. Hopefully we get some more in the next few weeks! :)

Thundersnow! Lol. We have had the craziest winter ever. No snow hardly around here at all. :( It actually has been springlike for days. So weird!

Have a great week!

That's exactly what I said - thundersnow! :) I think the groundhog was wrong. Spring seems to have arrived much earlier than normal for Michigan!

I think about reading treasure island all the time but with so many newer books I fail to make the time, I really need to change that this year. I hope you are enjoying it!!

The only reason I'm making any progress at all in my Classics Club list this year is the Serial Reader app. It's been so handy! :)

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
