So I completely forgot to do an It's Monday! post last week. It was Labor Day, the last day of summer before school started. I spent the day on the front porch reading. It didn't even feel like a Monday, which is probably why I forgot all about whipping up a post. So now I'll share two weeks of reading in one post!

My Recent Posts

Should/Should Not - Eleanor & Park
Wonder by R.J. Palacio - Review
Reviewlets of Auralia's Colors by Jeffrey Overstreet; The Solitaire Mystery by Jostein Gaarder; and The Other Side of the Island by Allegra Goodman
Saturday Snapshot - Cinque Terre, Italy

What I Read Over the Past Two Weeks

Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter by Mario Vargas Llosa (A book I picked up for a reading challenge. Not my usual fare, but interesting nevertheless.)
A Passion Most Pure by Julie Lessman (Loved this book! Can't wait to get back to the library to check out the next book in the series!)
One Summer: America, 1927 by Bill Bryson (Bryson did it again. This book is amazing.)
The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon (I've heard a lot of raving about this book. I liked it. If there hadn't been so many mentions of the devil, I would have loved it.)
The Xanadu Adventure by Lloyd Alexander (A book title that starts with X! And it's by Lloyd Alexander! What could be better?)

What I'm Reading Now

Vienna Nocturne by Vivien Shotwell (I'm a music history geek, so historical fiction about Mozart is right up my alley!)

It's an aspect of Mozart's life I hadn't heard of before. It's a good read. I hope you enjoy it if you get a chance to read it!

I like the sound of a historical novel about Mozart! He's my favorite composer. :)

Beethoven and Brahms are my favorite composers, but I haven't found much historical fiction about them. :) If you enjoy Mozart, you should definitely check out this book!

Isn't it funny what random book titles can make us remember? :)

I agree, Nikita, the cover is beautiful! It really catches the eye in a subtle way. Kind of like the book inside. :)

Most of these were random finds at the library, so they were new to me too, originally! :) Enjoy your week!

Nice bunch of books. I like Bill Bryson's nonfiction and will have to add that one to my wishlist. The Xanadu Adventure sounds good too. Happy reading!

The Xanadu Adventure was fun, as all of Lloyd Alexander's book are. And Bill Bryson was amazing in this book as always. I love it when authors stay true to form!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
