This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date.
Happy Monday! It's been a lovely weekend here. Such beautiful weather that we had to break out the air conditioner. Lots of family time. And a hot air balloon festival in a nearby town that we went to twice - pictures to come on Saturday (hopefully)! How was your weekend?

What I Read Last Week

The Year of Reading Dangerously: How Fifty Great Books (and Two Not-So-Great Ones) Saved My Life by Andy Miller (If you like books about books, you will definitely enjoy this one!)
Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger (I now officially love this series and can't wait to read - I mean, listen - to the rest. That's right. . . I'm pretty sure I enjoyed this book more as an audiobook than I would in print. I don't say that often. In fact, I think this is the first time!)
Shadow Spinner by Susan Fletcher (I just barely squeaked in the May read for the Reading Together book club, but I really enjoyed it. This is a very interesting spin on 1001 Arabian Nights, and I was sucked right into the story.)

What I'm Reading Now

Among the Janeites: A Journey Through the World of Jane Austen Fandom by Deborah Yaffe (Yeah, I'm on a bit of a Jane kick recently.)
Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen (Still working my way through this one slowly on my phone. Lydia and Wickham just eloped - sorry for the lack of spoiler alert. I guess I'm assuming everyone is familiar enough with the plot that spoiler alerts aren't necessary. And if you aren't familiar with it, surely I just piqued your curiosity and you want to now grab the book and devour it, right?)

What's Coming Up Next

The Boys in the Boat: The True Story of an American Team's Epic Journey to Win Gold at the 1936 Olympics by Daniel James Brown (This is my book club book for June - sort of. I read it a couple of summers ago, and I don't have tons of time to reread it, so I'm refreshing my memory of the events by reading the Young Readers' Adaptation. I thought that was a good compromise.)

I've never heard of the Etiquette and Espionage series, but it sounds like great fun. I'm going to check it out!

Summer suddenly arrived didn't it? Lol. We had to turn the a/c on as well. It sounds like you had a great weekend with family!

The Year of Reading Dangerously sounds fun - and I do love books about books!

Yeah, what happened to spring? It was, what, maybe a week long? :) The Year of Reading Dangerously was a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy it if you read it!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
