This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date.
Well, my little guy and I survived a week alone! My husband was gone on a work trip from Tuesday morning to Friday night. That's the longest he's been gone since our son was born, and I'm happy to say that we all survived the separation. I know I am so blessed to have him here the vast majority of the time. Single parents are amazing. I don't know how they do it. I'm just glad our house stayed in one piece and my sanity is more or less intact!

My Bookish Plans for 2018

What I Read Last Week

Anne of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery (I loved rereading this one for the umpteenth time. I'm hoping to sneak in at least one more Montgomery book this month.)
Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand (Another one off my Classics Club list! This play is amazing. I would love to see it performed sometime!)
The Lost Book of the Grail by Charlie Lovett (I think this might actually be my favorite of his. It was relaxing and suspenseful all at the same time, if that makes any sense.)

What I'm Reading Now

The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck (Next up for the Classics Club. I have to admit that I'm dreading this one a bit.)
The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin (First Newbery read of the year!)

What's Coming Up Next

I honestly haven't really thought past The Grapes of Wrath, because that's a big, thick book, and I'm on page 2. Right now, I'm just hoping to make a lot of progress on it this week!

Also woo hoo for surviving the week alone! I get overwhelmed sometimes if my husband is gone for a day!

It was pretty crazy! I agree, sometimes there are days when I'm counting the hours just until he gets home from work. :) Thankfully, it'll be a long time before he has to go on a business trip again.

I think you'll enjoy The Lost Book of the Grail. It's not as action-packed as The Bookman's Tale, but that was one of the reasons I liked it better. :)

The Grapes of Wrath is one I want to read, but not sure when I will be up for that. Good luck!

I love Cyrano de Bergerac. I also loved the french movie adaptation. So very good ;) I hope you enjoy Grapes of Wrath more than I did. I love some Steinbeck I've read, but not all.

I really enjoyed Cyrano. I would love to see it performed or even a movie version someday. I'll have to check out the French movie adaptation. I read Of Mice and Men in high school. That's the only Steinbeck I've read, and it didn't really make me a fan. I'm looking forward to giving him another try!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
