It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Normally this weekly meme is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. Because of a family tragedy, Sheila is taking a blogging break. I don't know if someone else will host the link-up, but I'm planning to continue writing It's Monday posts. My prayers go out to Sheila and her family.
This past week was spring break, which meant lots of reading. In fact, I spent Tuesday curled up in my chair in my library and read an entire book. It was glorious. My husband and I also took a weekend trip to Chicago (I'll post some of our pictures on Saturday). All in all, I couldn't have asked for a much more relaxing spring break!

What I Read Last Week

Arcadia by Lauren Groff (Haven't read many books about hippies. This was interesting, while not entirely what I was expecting.)
The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton (Amazing! This was my first book by Kate Morton, and I will definitely be tracking down the other books she's written.)
Symphony by Jude Morgan (Among my many areas of geekness, music history is high on the list. So a novel about Hector Berlioz was a really interesting read!)

What I'm Reading Now

Picture
Autobiography of Anthony Trollope by Anthony Trollope (I have really enjoyed the few Trollope novels I've read, so I'm looking forward to getting to know the man behind the books.)

What's Coming Up Next

Picture
The Guardians by Ana Castillo (I'm slowly chipping away at the Pick-a-Shelf challenge I set for myself back in January. Just three books to go, and I'll have the whole shelf read!)

I have as yet to read The Forgotten Garden but at some point I would like to read it. Sounds like a great Spring break.

The Forgotten Garden was a great read, especially if you like twisty plots that are gradually revealed. It was definitely a page-turner!

I went through a Kate Morton phase too :-)
My favourite was The Distant Hours - a lovely gothic feel to it.

Since Sheila is off-blog right now I will post my Monday link here <a href="http://bronasbooks.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/a-year-of-marvellous-ways-by-sarah.html">Brona's Books</a>

Your Tuesday sounds heavenly. I'm pretty sure that is the way days off should be spent. :)

Another Trollope book to add to my ever growing list of Trollope to be reads! I didn't realize he wrote an autobiography!

I'm pretty sure I could make a Classics Club list just of Trollope books. He was a very prolific writer, and a great one, too! I hope you enjoy his books when you get a chance to read some.

I LOVE Kate Morton's books! She is an all-time favorite author and I adored The Forgotten Garden. Her other three are definitely worth a read and I can't wait for her newest, The Lake House, coming out in the fall :)

I had heard so much good about Kate Morton, and it was certainly confirmed when I read The Forgotten Garden. I will for sure be checking out her other books. I didn't realize she had a new one coming out this fall. I'll have to add that to the list, too! :)

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
