This weekly chance to add to your reading list is hosted by Kathryn at Book Date.
And now it's white outside! We got about a foot of snow on Wednesday and Thursday last week. So much for spring! Crazy Michigan weather. :)

What I Read Last Week

The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo (Loved this!)

What I'm Reading Now

Travels with Charley: In Search of America by John Steinbeck (I am loving this one. Travel narratives, which are one of my favorite genres, combined with Steinbeck's writing is a winning combination!)
The Forbidden Library by Django Wexler (I'm trying to savor the Steinbeck book, so I'm slipping this middle grade read in in the evenings.)
Daniel Deronda by George Eliot (I'm on page 376 out of 710. More than halfway!!)

What's Coming Up Next

Writer to Writer: From Think to Ink by Gail Carson Levine (This was a spontaneous grab at the library. I love books about writing.)

It's white outside here too -- with more coming tonight!

I haven't read any Steinbeck, but I'm really intrigued by that one! Books like that remind me that classics come in all forms -- a travel narrative one sounds so interesting.

Hopefully your snow melts away soon! Ours is lingering, but it's supposed to be 50 degrees tomorrow, so that should take care of the rest of it!

My favorite parts of Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath were his descriptive sections, so I really enjoyed Travels with Charley. You're right - classics do come all different ways! :)

We had so much snow here in the UK last week - it feels like the arrival of spring has been a long time coming, and winter never ending!!

Great book selection; I'm intrigued by the MG title. I'll actually be reading my first ever George Eliot title this month I believe, but definitely not a 710 page whooper!

Happy reading & a lovely week to you.

I agree! Winter has seemed really long this year. Hopefully the snow will soon be gone for good.

Enjoy your first George Eliot! I've read a couple of her other books and really liked them. I hope you do, too!

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
