Library Loot!

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Linda from Silly Little Mischief that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.
Yesterday was my first Library Day of the summer!! I've been so good so far this year, reading books almost entirely from my own collection. But now that summer is here, I have time to drive 45 minutes to the big libraries and partake of all their bookish goodness!
Picture
A Year Down Yonder by Richard Peck (For my Newbery Reading Challenge, which I am so behind on!)
A Single Shard by Linda Sue Park (Ditto)
A Passion Denied by Julie Lessman (Third book in a series I absolutely love.)
The Paper Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg (I've been wanting to read this book since I first heard about it. Hooray for libraries making that happen!)
The Dress Shop of Dreams by Menna van Praag (Mm, magical realism.)
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley (I'm not usually a mystery reader, but I have heard so much raving about this series. I finally decided to try it out.)
Picture
The Seven Sisters by Lucinda Riley (I'll read anything she's written!)
The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith (Loved Harry Potter, hated A Casual Vacancy. I convinced myself to give Rowling on more chance. . .)
The Tower, the Zoo, and the Tortoise by Julia Stuart (This book just looked fun.)
Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo (I've been waiting forever to finish this series!)
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (I love London, and it's got to be even better when there's four of them, right?)
Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void by Mary Roach (My token nonfiction book. :)

I'm going to have to jump in on this meme sometime! Enjoy Flavia and Packing for Mars - I really liked both of those!

My husband is reading Packing for Mars right now and really enjoying it. Hopefully he'll give me a turn to read it! :)

I used to love participating in this meme but I haven't in a long time. Isn't that sad?? I miss it, and I miss the library! Blogging has changed how I acquire my books.

I hope you enjoy your books this week!! Happy reading :D

I pretty much only get to the library in the summer. It's so much fun to have all those books at your fingertips for free! I hope you get a chance to visit a library soon! :)

I hope you like Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. For me, the series is a lot less about the mystery itself (which is usually a bit forgettable), but all about the characters. I just adore them!

That's exactly what I'm hoping for! If I do read a mystery, it usually isn't for the plot. I love books with memorable characters! :)

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
