My Year in Books - 2013 Edition

1/3/2014

My Bookish Statistics of 2013

Due to the wonders of Goodreads, I actually have a record of what I've read for an entire year! Never having kept track before, I was very curious to see how my statistics worked out for 2013. And here's what I found:
Books read: 125 1/2
   (4 of those were audiobooks)
Pages read: 41,169
Fiction: 80%
Nonfiction: 20%
Male authors: 39%
Female authors: 61%
Nothing too surprising, but interesting all the same! In 2014, I'd like to read a bit more nonfiction (sometimes I forget how much I enjoy it) and definitely increase the number of audiobooks. I started listening to audiobooks while I was running this summer. But when the running went by the wayside, so did the audiobooks. . . Maybe I can accomplish two goals in one this year (once it warms up to non-negative temperatures outside, that is).

Wow 125 is a lot of books! I love multitasking with audiobooks -- I don't run, but I listened to quite a few while doing yardwork and painting inside my house and it made the tasks so much more enjoyable.

That book non-fiction book about introverts sounds interesting and I've had the pink carnation books languishing on my shelves forever -- 2014 has got the be the year I read mostly from my already overflowing shelves!

Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

My name is Julie, and I own a lot of books. As in, they are stacked on the floor because I've run out of room on the shelves. And those shelves? There are so many books on them that they smile -- not sag; smile. This blog will cover book reviews and all manner of other bookish things.
